BCM Mission Trip to Kansas

The BCM at UAM, under the direction of Phillip Slaughter, took a mission trip to serve the Native Americans in Kansas. They worked with the students at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, and they worked with children of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. Most of the children had never heard the name of Jesus before these students came to spend time with them! Below, you will see photos of some of their activities and the ways they ministered during Spring Break 2012.

Sunday Morning, Bro. Phillip preached at Indian Avenue Baptist Church.

Sunday evening we invited the Haskell students to come to the church for Indian Tacos. They also got to watch the Jayhawks on the big screen!

Man, those tacos are huge...but they sure are delicious!

On Thursday night, the Haskell students were invited to a "Banana Bash", skits, and Banana Splits!

During the day, the students worked on the Reservation at the Boys and Girls Club.
The children hear Bible stories and many heard the name of Jesus for the very FIRST time!!!
They did crafts and sang songs with the children.

They also played dodgeball with the children in the gym.
