Kansas Thanksgiving Trip

Hello all, and I hope all are well. Fran and I just returned from our quick trip to Lawrence, Kansas. Almost 1200 miles round trip, but who's counting(ha). It was good to see John and Rhonda and spend a few days with them on this outreach opportunity at Haskell. John is doing ok and is getting good reports from his medical team. It will still be several weeks before he has most of his balance back. He has to use a cane but it doesn't help much when he carries it instead of using it. Rhonda has told him she will use it on him if he doesn't use it like he is suppose to.(ha) We enjoyed our time with them even if it was such a quick, short time.
The event at Haskell when very well. 150 "goodie bags" were handed out along with many cups of coffee. We were joined in this outreach opportunity by several members of the church which made the afternoon activities go so much better. By all accounts,it was a wonderful event and we were all well received . Only time will tell how far reaching this outreach project will be. I also had an opportunity to meet with several key leaders on campus to discuss plans for next summer. By their response, we were a big hit on campus and that they are looking forward to our group's return next summer. I plan to go back to Haskell sometime in April and meet with these leaders again so together,we can better plan the work schedule for all of our teams. I hope to see more of our churches involved in this outreach mission event. This is "REAL" mission work that can have a hugh impact on John's ministry at Lawrence and at Haskell, and have a great kigdom impact on the Native Americans. Start talking about this mission opportunity in Kansas now. This summer in Kansas will be great! DOM
